"Forget about the curve ball Ricky, give him the heater"

How sweet are these duds? Suhweet! ASU may have had their hearts broken in the CWS but they managed to use my formula of "you look good, you play good"(minus the play good part). These fashion forward threads are atop my list of filthyNESS and among my favorites in the world of athletic attire. Any baseball aficionado can respect the old school knicker look. It brings a rough and rugged swagger(not old spice) to America's pastime. Unfortunately, ASU was ousted in this game 10-6 after being up 6-0. I'm not sure if ASU keeps track of moral victories, but I would definitely mark this as a "W" in the score book. The CWS is one of the greatest weeks in sports for baseball fans. The fans are blessed to watch baseball that actually means something to the players and coaches. NO money, NO endorsements, NO fame(YET)... if only the MLB could offer this product, I might catch a few more games. As the CWS comes to a close, I am starting to plan a trip next June to Omaha, Nebraska for the final CWS in Rosenblatt Stadium...)(

Bryce Harper...the real deal

(REMEMBER THIS NAME) Bryce Harper, a baseball phenom showcases his swing on the cover of SI and a set of UN-godly numbers. Any baseball guru can appreciate these digits; 570 foot home runs, 96 MPH fastballs and he is only 16 years old. WHAT? At 16, I was, um...not hitting bombs further than any MLB player let alone a little league All Star:) This kid is counting down the days until he can be drafted..."draftin 'em outta high school straight into the pros," thanks Nelly. He will never see a college campus nor a collegiate at bat. Why would he when $$millions$$ await his arrival to the MLB. By the way, he is compared to Junior and A-ROD(pre-roided A-ROD) at the same age. I just hope he doesn't play for his dream team, the hated Yankees. What I wouldn't give to be this kid prodigy...or a 16 year old youngster again. For more, check out the SI issue...)(
