how not to act old...

Recently, I have had some interesting convos with friends. No matter the topic, age seems to arise frequently. I know it's all in good fun(I'm older than them and better looking) but it sparked the left side of my brain so I decided to take it a little further...

A person's age means very little to me, yet can sometimes explain everything. The expression "young and dumb" comes to mind. Yes, I believe I once was "young and dumb" and who hasn't? I think and hope that I'm out of that stage in my life...though I still know I'm young inside at times. Society often associates age with maturity. I assume this is based on the fact that the longer you have lived, the more mature you are as a person. However, because I do something or say something a "young" person would do or say, society claims immaturity has gotten the best of me. My intelligence and responsible nature (or so i think) are enough at times but I still find the need to bring out "the kid in me" to fulfill a desirable need. The desirable need being open minded enough to try something new and not worry how society will judge my actions. I'm not saying I don't judge, because everyone does it whether they say it or not. However, I'm conscious of my judgemental thoughts about others.
Try this...When meeting someone new, make it a point to not ask ones age. Rather converse, listen, learn, observe and understand whomever based on actions and words, not digits.
So I have come up with a list to keep your youth alive
Don't...
  • count exact change
  • drive below the speed limit
  • go near a bingo hall
  • drive a minivan or a buick
  • play board games or puzzles
  • pick up knitting as an activity
  • listen to talk radio
Do...
  • go to bed after 10pm
  • eat dinner after 7pm
  • try coffee after dark
  • sing in your car or shower
  • be awesome

Numba 1 in Da HooD G...

TH
AT'S
G

one of the greatest walk off home run celebrations EVER! considering...
  1. it's not a player from the hated New York Yankees
  2. style points are hard to come by unless teammates are involved
  3. he will get a dead on arrival 98mph heater to the chin next time the Giants visit
  4. the brew crew have been out of contention since the season started
  5. creative and clever celebrations are needed for a guy who claims to be a vegetarian and weighs just under 1 ton(hence the shock wave he delivered to his teammates)(

Thuggy "D" & da Fantasy Factory

Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory is a place where fantasies come true. I think its impossible to not accomplish some sort of awesomeness at a factory of this caliber. From zip-lines, giant skateboards, blobbing, shark attack, "Timmy the testy", Bolt Speedman, sidehacks("oh BMX is pretty boring by yourself, now you have your buddy right next to you"), Rob Diesel puts the F-U-N back in life...OK that makes zero sense but its true;) he is my man crush...in the most non-gay way possible.

He does what he wants and I want to do what he does. However, I can't skate and I lack a couple million in pocket change to do what I want. His thoughts and creativeness inspire me...

  • "Your so awesome that I can't believe how UN-awesome I am." Drama thinks this constantly
  • "Lets say you have a 6 inch layer of dumb on you, he is going to smack it right off." referring to Joel Bauer
  • "Trust your pilot, respect your monkey." sidehack motto

Watch this show because its worth the 1/2 hour chuckle...fo'sho')(
